Cake International Birmingham 2016
So, who has been at Cake International Birmingham? We have been there and with our first booth!!!
Oh, the excitement!!! Everything was new, and it's so amazing to be on the other side of the show. The number of people we've met and they were so lovely!!!
When I first thought about having a booth, I never imagined how amazing it could be, or how big the response could be at the show.
It all began with an idea, a huge scare of everything went wrong and ended with an awesome feeling of mission accomplished.
Now, how did Sugar Geek Show joined us?? Well... I've asked my dear friend Liz Marek if she could do a demo at the show at my booth. Then, we thought it would be fun to have an SGS offer there. After that, a banner sounded good to people identify it more easily. I think you can guess the rest :D One conversation after another and my booth became OUR booth and it was the best idea we ever had!
It was so fun to work with Liz and it's even better when you can connect friendship with work.
We had the luck to have three super talented and lovely ladies demoing at our booth during the show. Sachiko Windbiel (Mimicafe Union @New York), Cynthia White (CAKED by Cynthia White) and Nathasja Flapper (Flappergasted Cakes).

Let's talk now about the competition cakes. Did you know there were 1400 entries??? Yes, that many. And each one was amazing!!!
Many of you asked me about my piece. Well, my piece stayed at the apartment... I did finish it but do you know when you have the feeling that it's not good enough? Yeah... I had that feeling... A lot of you said to me "Oh you should have entered anyway". And I tell you why I didn't... I can't present something that I'm not proud of it. Sometimes it's hard to make that decision, but in my perspective, it wasn't good enough for me to present it. And at the end, the most important thing is for you to be proud of you and your work. And we always have next year :)
