Chocolate Marble Toppers
As promised, here it is a super easy tutorial of chocolate decorations.
Sometimes we just need a simple decoration to elevate our cakes and cupcakes. And most of the times we get lost in the ideas, but sometimes the best way to go is simple. In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make simple chocolate decorations using cutters, so the possibilities are endless!!
When I say it's easy, it's really super easy. Melt chocolate, pour, swirl, dry, cut and it's done!!
(Edibles and non-edibles)
Rainbow Dust Colour Melts (in your colour choice)
Bowls (to melt the chocolate)
Flat surface (cookie sheet works great)
BBQ wooden stick or any kind of pointed tool
Cutters (in your shape choice)
I used Rainbow Dust Colour Melts in white and pink for this ones but you can use any colour you want. The Rainbow Dust Colour Melts are amazing because they have a perfect consistency for this project and they are easy to use. If you find them a little thick to spread the first colour (the base one), just add a little bit of vegetable oil or cocoa butter.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave (do it in small increments.
Smooth and tap the surface, to create a flat base.
Melt the second colour and add blobs of it to the base (no need for any pattern, the messier the merrier).
With a toothpick (or any pointed tool) do swirls all around until you're happy with the pattern.
Let the chocolate dry (30 to 60 minutes it's enough, depending on your room temperature).
Once dry and firm, dip the cutter in hot water to easily cut your decorations as you wish.
As usual, I created a pdf for you to download and print, to be easier for you to follow this tutorial.
And here is the video for this tutorial.
See how easy it is???
These chocolate decorations were part of the Strawberry Cake I've made and you can see all about it here: Strawberry Drip Cake
Also, why not watch the time lapse of the cake? Check it here: Strawberry Drip Timelapse - Buttercream Cake
So, what colour combinations and shapes will you create?? Don't forget to share with me on Facebook or Instagram so I can see them. I always love to see your works!
