Serenity in White… - Buttercream Flowers
This week I’ve decided to conquer my fears and finally try buttercream flowers.
Oh, my… I’m in love… They’re hard to make at first, but when you keep doing them you just fell in love with it.
Obviously that my favourite flower to the moment is the rose… After making about 6 or 7, I finally make one and had a “aaaaaaaaaaaaa” moment. I did the happy dance… Yes… I did…
For the buttercream, I’ve used the recipe from the book “100 Buttercream Flowers” from Queen of Hearts Couture Cakes. It’s delicious and easy to make… Even for a beginner as me.
The cake is covered in LMF fondant, recipe by Liz Marek (Artisan Cake Company / Sugar Geek Show), and painted with gel colours diluted with lemon extract. Finally, a little touch of golden gel and a little of edible gold leaf on top.
The worst part… Assembling the flowers… I was so afraid to attach the flowers to the cake. I thought the flowers would slip of the cake but no!! The buttercream sticks everything together. It’s like magic!
It was definitely a great experience, and I can’t wait to show you more about buttercream flowers.
You can see more photos of this cake here: SERENITY
Hope you love it as much as I do!!!
